Permit Placement

The Trail Permit is valid only when permanently affixed in the approved areas so that it is fully visible to a person standing 10 metres in front of the machine on its centerline.

Permit Tip: How to Avoid Theft

Please DO NOT place new permits on top of old permits. Someone can easily steal the new permit by simply peeling off the older, under layer with the new permit still affixed to it, so that the new one does not go void.

Understand Your Permit Application

Your permit order form has 3 separate parts.

  1. Part I – (left side of form) this contains space for your personal information and VIN number and should be signed upon completion.

  2. Part II – (top right) this is where you sign and accept the OFSC Benefits. (Remember there is no charge for this). Signing here also guarantees you will receive your membership magazines and Tops Trail Guide for the following season. Without your signature we cannot release your name to the OFSC for their mailing purposes. Go to www.ofsc.on.ca/Permits/WhyBuy.asp for more information about their benefits program.

  3. Part III – (Bottom right) Indicates how many and what type of permit you are purchasing. Remember to record your payment method, and add your signature. If you do not wish to mail your credit card information, you may indicate you require a phone call for this part.

Your Trail Permit Application has 5 pages.

1. Page 1, 2 and 5 include your name, address and vehicle identification number (V.I.N.).

2. Page 2 and 3 are for accepting the OFSC Benefits. Signing here also guarantees you will receive your membership magazines and Tops Trail Guide for the following season. Without your signature we cannot release your name to the OFSC for their mailing purposes. Go to www.ofsc.on.ca/Permits/WhyBuy.asp for more information about their benefits program.

Lost or Damaged Your Permit?

You can apply for a Replacement Permit. You must provide as much of the following as possible in order to apply for a replacement permit:

  • All or part of your original sticker
  • Trail Permit Receipt (this is your receipt copy that has your validation #)

If you are unable to provide any of the above then you must report the loss/damage to the Police. They will provide you with an incident number and with this number you can apply for your replacement permit.

You will need to complete a new Trail Permit Form and also a Replacement Application Form plus pay $10 for your new Permit sticker.

Our Retail Permit Sellers list will indicate the locations where replacements may be obtained.

Don’t get caught without your permit...
