Volunteering with the HCSA

The HCSA understands that our financial success will be strengthened through a strong and structured volunteer program. The HCSA knows that volunteers bring a diverse set of interests, skills and needs which strengthen the ability of our Club to provide safe high quality trails. Our Club policies, practices, and resources are used to ensure effective volunteer management including provision for ongoing training and recognition activities.

The HCSA commits to providing an open and welcoming environment which is safe and supportive for volunteers.

As a volunteer with the HCSA you will be:

  • treated as a co worker
  • given a suitable assignment
  • informed as much as possible about the organization
  • trained on the job
  • regularly evaluated
  • given sound guidance and direction
  • a variety of experiences and the opportunity for promotion
  • heard and recognized
  • reimbursed for all out of pocket expenses

As a volunteer with the HCSA you will be expected to:

  • be sincere and believe in the task to be done
  • be loyal to the club executive
  • maintain the dignity and integrity of the HCSA with the public
  • carry out duties promptly and reliably
  • accept the guidance and decisions of the HCSA
  • be willing to learn and participate in orientation, training programs, and meetings as required
